This February, Be The Light Ministries Incorporated is sharing the love with Valentine’s Care Bags for senior adults in our community and select nursing facility residents. Each bag includes socks, lotion, hygiene items, and other essentials to bring comfort, dignity, and encouragement.

Food disparity among low income senior adults in Oklahoma is a significant issue. Oklahoma ranks 12th in the nation for food insecurity among senior adults. Approximately 18% of single senior adults between the ages of 65-74 live at poverty level and this rate increases to 22% in individuals 75 and older. This means that seniors often have to make decisions to accommodate rent, utilities, medications and other important items with little left for food.
